James V. Choulos brings over 30 years of experience advocating for individuals and families in personal injury cases. A graduate of U.C. Berkeley, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science, and Santa Clara University School of Law, where he obtained his J.D. in 1990, James offers both extensive legal knowledge and a steadfast commitment to justice.

Before founding Choulos & Tsoi Law Firm, James gained invaluable experience working alongside his father and renowned San Francisco trial lawyer Vasilios Choulos. This early exposure to high-profile cases and mentorship helped shape James’s dedication to fighting for victims of negligence and holding responsible parties accountable. In 2004, he co-founded the firm to continue his family’s legacy of advocacy.

Throughout his career, James has secured positive results for Californians facing life-changing injuries caused by motor vehicle accidents, dangerous property conditions, and more. He takes a hands-on approach to every case and works closely with our firm’s clients to fully understand their situation and develop strategies tailored to their needs.

James is active in the legal community, participating in organizations such as the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association (SFTLA), the Consumer Attorneys of California, and the American Association for Justice (AAJ). He also serves on a mediation panel for the Marin Superior Court.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, James is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys activities like motorcycling, bicycling, and spending time with his daughter, Siena. These personal interests allow him to connect with a wide variety of people and advocate for victims of personal injury accidents on a deeper level .
